Smith Mountain Lake is renowned for its striper bass fishing. It is home to several professional fishing tournaments held throughout the year. Mariners Landing has been the host lodging venue for several of these tournaments since its opening in 2004. Mariners Landing provides electricity at boat docks and parking lots during the fishing tournaments for participants.
