Testimonials

“We stayed at Mariner’s Landing while visiting nearby family during the first week in January. My son and daughter-in-law joined us for a couple of nights, and the grandchildren stayed over one night. Having 2 bedrooms with a pull out couch allowed us to do that. We were delighted to find we had daily room service; something that is once midweek at best in most timeshares. Our living room overlooked the lake, with the mountains in the background. There was a glassed in balcony that let us maximize that on the days where it was a little warmer. Breakfast was brought in every day, which was a nice surprise. There was a gas fireplace that made the living room cozy for the evenings. We aren’t boaters or golfers, but if you were enthusiasts in either area, you’d have your wishes granted with both on site. It was definitely the off season, and the other guests were few and far between, but we were still treated very well and would return again when visiting the area.” jmarrapodi, Trip Advisor, January, 2011

“Mariners Landing has more amenitites than any other place around Smith Mountain lake! If you want fabulous views of the water and mountain – ask for a condo right on the lake! These units are individually owned but rent like a hotel with 2 or 3 bedrooms and 2 or 3 bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens, televisions in each room and laundry facilities. A full service restaurant and bar are located right in this building! We had a great time and tried to use everything – but ran out of time! We fell in love and know you will too! Give this one a try!” VirginiaTravelerTwo, Trip Advisor, July, 2010

“Our family stayed at Mariners Landing Golf and Lake Community during the Fourth of July for two weeks. This resort has all the amenities one could dream of including a restaurant on site, many pools with slides, hot tub, beach area with fire pit for roasting marshmallows, fitness center, golf, boating; with dock slips for your convenience, walking trails, playground, tennis courts, spa, and gorgeous views of the lake and mountains. What a relaxing vacation.” travelingisfun7075, Trip Advisor, July 2010

“We recently stayed at Mariners Landing in a three bedroom lakefront condo with our two young children and friends with another child. The accommodations were great. We will be back as we promised to make this an annual trip!” Traveler5Virginia, Trip Advisor, May, 2010

“Our first visit to SML – we loved it and Mariners Landing was such a pretty spot and nice resort. Service was excellent througout the resort – everyone we encountered from the wait staff, reservations, bar tender was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this resort to families or couples looking to get away for a relaxing and fun stay. ” lsnyder, Trip Advisor, September, 2009

“SML is a very nice quaint low key resort. It was a great place to enjoy the view of the lake. The resort and grounds are very nice and well kept. Benjamin’s has great staff and the food was good also. I would definitely recommend this for both families and others looking to have a nice laid back time away from all the normal day to day hustle.” onelDL, Trip Advisor, July, 2009

“My wife and I, along with our young children, just returned from a weekend stay at Mariners Landing at Smith Mountain Lake. The occasion of our visit was a family reunion, and our group totaled about 30 people. The resort was great, and was particularly so for the nature of our visit (there seemed to be at least 2 other families doing the same thing on that weekend). We stayed in a nicely-appointed condo with 3 bdrm/ 2ba. The room also featured a large kitchen, a fireplace, washer/ dryer, and a patio with a beautiful lake view. The unit was in excellent condition, and felt both clean and modern. Despite being part of a 7-story building at a larger resort, it stayed quite quiet throughout our stay. The facilities at the resort were very nice as well. We enjoyed the pools and tennis, as well as the small-but-nice beach on the property. There are two pools with waterslides that were very kid-friendly. There is also golf on property, although we did not play. We also did not eat at the restaurant. This being our first visit to Smith Mountain Lake, we were very impressed. The natural beauty of the area, and of southwestern Virginia, are remarkable. We took the opportunity to drive part of the way on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and it enhanced our sense of seclusion in this resort area. If you like having many restaurant and shopping options, then this might not be the place for you. If, however, you seek an opportunity to relax, play, and enjoy nature, then SML is a great place. In summary, we loved our stay at Mariners Landing and SML. It was very kid-friendly, but we also very relaxing for adults. I would recommend this location highly.” hunan6, Trip Advisor, July, 2009

“My visit was only a day trip but what a beautiful facility. Wonderful lake views and great food at Benjamin’s. We ate outside overlooking the lake activity. Our food was delicious and the waitress was very friendly and attentive. Looking forward to staying longer next time.” waterfriend, Trip Advisor, June, 2009

At our recent visit at “Benjamin’s at the Pointe” at Mariner’s Landing, we had an awesome time. The restaurant was to die for. The servers were very attentive to our needs and over accomodating to our requests. The food was incredible and very creative, and the atmosphere was exciting and fun. The desserts were something to write home about, delicious! We will certainly return on our next vacation. WOW! Thank you to all involved for a wonderful experience. See you soon.” 3Pilgrims, Trip Advisor, June, 2009

“Everything was nice, including the grounds. My husband and I had a relaxing dinner at Benjamin’s at the Pointe. Food was excellent and found the wait staff to be very helpful and friendly. We went back on a Sat. in May to spend the day and have dinner at Benjamin’s. Food was great, especially the mushroom bisque soup. I was back with two of my girlfriends on 6-7-09 for lunch on the outside patio. We decided to try sharing several of their appetizers — steamed shrimp, mini shrimp & crab cakes, chicken wings, eggrolls. All were great. And you sure couldn’t beat the view of the lake!!” fair-reports, Trip Advisor, June, 2009

“My husband and I went to a wedding at Mariners Landing. We stayed at the Pointe at Mariners Landing. Accommodations were excellent!! We also played golf and went swimming. Everything was top notch. Both the wedding ceremony and reception were at Mariners Landing. The wedding ceremony was in the gazebo by the lake, and the reception was in a banquet room . It was great that we didn’t have to travel far to do anything. We never even left the grounds. The food at the reception was great and the wait staff were very attentive.” Pat37, Trip Advisor, March, 2008
